Another way to manage your battery

DU Battery Saver (previously DU Battery Saver & Widgets) is an app to manage and extend the battery life of your Android device. On paper, Battery Saver DU should serve not only to make your battery last longer on a day to day basis, but also make it more reliable in the long term. But, while it is true that its configuration options offer plenty of energy saving settings, it won’t be necessary for many users.

When your battery dies fast

DU Battery Saver’s greatest strength is its configurable power saving options, designed to lengthen the life of your battery. It also includes a button to optimize your terminal, allowing you to instantly close all unnecessary apps running in the background with a single tap.

The problem is that both of these options are available in recent version of the Android OS, rendering DU Battery Saver superfluous. Android Lollipop offers a power saving mode, while you have been able to manage background apps since Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

This makes DU Battery Saver only really necessary for those running Android Gingerbread or earlier. It must be said that, even on these devices, DU Battery Saver does not work miracles, but it does help identify apps that dramatically impact battery life.

Simple and straightforward

DU Battery Saver’s simple design and focus on functionality are easy to appreciate. From the menu it is easy to access all the various saving modes: such as turning mobile data off, airplane mode, or a custom setting that allows us to configure our device exactly how we wanted it.

However, DU Battery Saver’s most useful feature is its ability detect those apps that quietly drain our phone’s power without us noticing. This is brilliant, as it lets us identity what is leeching our battery overnight and then decide what to do with the offending app.

A good battery manager

If you need a phone manager, DU Battery Saver is a good choice. But, we do have to question whether is really necessary for users who already have its functions integrated into their operating system.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
